yin & vinyasa – half of the course is devoted to the Yin style with detailed descriptions of how and why to practice in this way. The other half is the more active style of moving from pose to pose while maintaining an awareness of our inner (breath and mind states) and outer (form and function) alignment.

The Yoga Teacher Training Course is a comprehensive Yoga Alliance approved 200 hours program run over 4 weeks.

Merel is the founder of Parimukti Yoga, aiming to spread the beauty and benefits of yoga with whomever is open and motivated to learn and not afraid to honestly reflect at oneself.
For Merel, Yoga is awareness, both on the mat and in everyday life. Classes and teachings serve as an inspiration when stepping into daily life. Realizing that everyone starts with a different background and expectation she combines different practices to make them accessible and beneficial to all. Moreover, Merel has personally experienced that integration of different practices such as pranayama, asana and meditation can deeply heal the physical and mental body, which will ultimately make daily life more simple and beautiful.
Merel is known for her open mind and perceptiveness to the varying needs of different students. Always being aware of where any individual student is, she adjusts the teachings smartly truly turning the teaching into an art. The foundation of anything she does is trust, reliability and authenticity. Her teachings are inspired by different schools and teachers but always blended with her own authentic personality and her own experience, understanding and wisdom. According to Merel this is what makes a true teacher: authenticity. Being authentic is the key to inspire others.
In the teacher trainings Merel will guide you in the process of finding your authentic teaching style to being able to beautifully inspire others. Merel has been studying Yoga 10 years and has been inspired by both ancient and contemporary teachers. Besides Yoga, she has been studying Buddhism and uses the teaching and practices of both philosophies throughout her own life and thus here classes.
Merel has a degree in Medicine and International Public Health, and after an international career in the health care sector she has given herself the freedom to dedicate her life to the philosophy and practice of yoga and meditation. After some years of teaching in her hometown Amsterdam, she now resides in India.
Buddhi Prakash is one of Parimukti Yoga’s beloved guest teachers. His personality and deep personal experience make his philosophy classes deeply inspiring and enlightening. Having spend his life studying and practicing Yoga enables him to understand how to convey the vast philosophies in such way that they are helpful for any serious student.
Above all he is an inspiring personality, spreading positivity with his infectious smile and laughter. Buddhi Prakash has been studying and practicing Yoga from childhood and has gained profound wisdom and experience since then.
He completed his higher education in Agra and Haridwar and got initiation in the Shankaracharya Tradition through his master Maharishi Mahesh Yogi. If he is not traveling to teach around India or abroad, he resides in Rishikesh were he has established the ‘Prakash Yoga Sewa Trust’, spreading the ultimate knowledge with whomever is eager to learn.

The spacious room is set in the reserve and is surrounded by wild natural beauty. This stunning nature reserve has a varied landscape with an unparalleled wealth of flora and fauna, a prefect location to practice and study surrounded by the peace and beauty of nature

What are the prerequisites before taking the Yoga Teacher Training program?
We strongly recommend that applicants have a minimum of 6 months consistent Yoga practice
Do you accept everyone who applies to the training?
We limit our class sizes to ten students as we believe in giving the highest caliber of training possible. We carefully read and consider every application. We also look for enthusiasm to learn
What are the days like?
The days are long and you will be exhausted after each day. Students are advised to go to bed early. It’s normal to feel pleasantly overwhelmed and tired. Bring snacks and lunch to see you through the day
Once I’m certified, where can I teach?
Once you have been through the certification course you can teach anywhere in the world
I simply want to deepen my practice and not necessarily teach, can I take the program?
Must I attend every day to certify?
Yes. Yoga Alliance has a criteria that every certified school must follow. Therefore, whatever time you miss you must make arrangements with the faculty to make up the lost time
Are there payment plans?
Yes. We know that it’s costly to become a yoga teacher. You can break down tuition into autobilled monthly payments
Are there refunds on training once I have started the training?
